Windows not being skinned properly latest Windows 10 release

As you can see above, in Windows 10 v1803 Build 17133.1 (I am assuming this is the latest public release), some Modern apps are not being skinned properly and in other windows there is an overlap issue between the title bar and buttons and the main area of the window encroaching the titlebar.

Any word on an update to Windowblinds or a solution to the issue?

Bump. Any staff would like to provide input? Was advised by Stardock twitter account to make this thread, was hoping an engineer/programmer could weigh in.

Hello,

Would like to know what Windowsblinds Style you have on the screenshot. I am trying to recreate your problem on my pc.

The theme is "Ice". I had to edit the theme as well in Skin Studio to get button text to display properly.

Also, changing skins has fixed the overlapping window content/titlebar issue.

Okay, thanks for reporting back

I’m still having the issue with Settings not getting skinned properly though.

Well on my Windows 10 with Ice (unmodified) it look no problem.

Try to see if Ice (original) or any other default theme (come with WB) produce same problem on your pc. If it does, maybe you need to use the purge and reinstall : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling

If your Ice WB looks like Reply #6 screenshot then there is nothing wrong. Note that the Settings and Control Panel windows will always have a White background. Windows 10 will not let you change that.

There are other windows that can be changed. Here are Screen shots from a simple WB I made. "Spaceblue". Example on my SS top left. That is the File Explorer Window. Background window color is a light Blue just as I have made it. The Top Right and bottom Center windows. "Settings" and "Control Panel" windows are still White. Can't be changed. Other user skins will also have the BG changed color but not on the Settings and Control Panel window. NOTE: This SS was taken on my Win10 computer.

The issue I am having with settings is the modern frame is not being themed for some reason. I will backup my version of Ice and do a purge and reinstall and see what happens.

If the un-modded Ice work, and only your version of Ice not working properly show that the problem is inside your version of Ice. No matter how many time you purge and reinstall Windowblinds. It will still have the same problem when you reapply your version of Ice. You need to figure it out yourself. Unless you want to send over your version to me or Dave, if his willing to help, to have a look at it.

Well, changing to a non-modded theme that comes with Windowblinds also does not theme the Win10 Settings titlebar. So the issue is not the theme, it's with Windowblinds. I am attempting a purge and reinstall now.

Edit: Purge and reinstall did not resolve the settings app skinning issue for me.

Please show us screenshot with the problem on a normal ice please. Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of the issue with the version of Ice that comes packaged with WindowBlinds. This issue happens with other themes as well.

Win10 Pro, Version 1803 build 17133.1

No that is not default ice. If it default ice it will be like my screenshot reply#6 white background with black text. Yours the other way around. There is something you did or an app that make that and possibly mess something else.

And After some search... I notice that is the new RTM 1803 release.. which I think is the problem. And I have been inform that our dev team was informed about it and we are currently gathering more information about it.

Looking at the startbutton and taskbar you don't even have the Ice WB loaded.

looking at you windows setting window that isn't the original Ice WB either. Ice doesn't have a Black BG. It also doesn't have black text. You want help on a modified version. Can't do that.

Looking at the windowblind screen shot you may have more but are showing at least 3 versions of the Ice WB.

You said you did what was asked in reply #6. I suggest you do it again and show the WB image again only showing 1 version of Ice.

On a different note. you are using a Windows 10 Insider Preview update. Anything can happen doing that.

Dave, he have Windows 10 RTM 1803 release. Which might be the problem. You can read a bit about it here ->https://www.neowin.net/news/windows-10-version-1803-rtm-build-is-now-available-in-the-slow-ring

Note that black windows system screen. o_O

Jazlan I saw it all above black screen and all and also mentioned the insider preview build. just didn't mention the actual version number. I can't help anyone that can't be honest with me and you know I love to help anyone I can.

What do you mean not be honest?

That theme is the default ice theme. The windows start button is part of the built in option of the Windowblinds application. I also did post the Win10 version and build in the OP, so please don't make me out to be some kind of deceitful person when you didn't read the entire post...

You can see that the default Ice theme is selected and applied in the screenshot, that's why I had the Windowblinds application up. There are no other settings changed other than the start button option as shown here.

I've reproduced it with the RTM 1803. Will get it looked into for an update. I'm not offhand seeing anything else particularly wrong.

Well, apart from a Firefox painting bug that we also know about.

Basj, Windows has a button to use a light theme or a dark theme. I use the dark as well. Has nothing to do with the issue the OP is having.  Mine skins fine, although not using Ice.

Okay.. mind point me to that button you mentioned? Maybe I am not playing long enough with Windows 10 to notice that button. Thanks. BTW have you try that Windows 10 RTM 1803 Version?

I don't use the insider/preview versions. I only use releases. I get what MS gives me via windows updates..

Never even heard of the RTM version.

Ok.. Thanks... need to load Windows 10 tonight and see it.
