In 1.12 the + buttom don´t create a new instance of excel, word, powerpoint. It worked ok, creatinga new instance of the program, in previous versions
In Chrome the + button works as should, creating a new chrome tab.

With Windows explorer the plus button also works ok, creating a new instance of the win xplorer.
What happens if you do not have groupy running but press ctrl N when word or excel have focus?
It should create a new window. Note that this will only work if you have a document open.
Turn-off Groupy, then I open an excel or word doc. When pressing Ctrl+N I alternate Bold on or off. No new instance of either program is created.
I see in Office help that, in the english version of excell, open a new Book is done with control+N but in the spanish version is Control+U
