Advanced setting is grayed out

Hello,

in the windowsblind advanced options there is the option "I want the styles to be able to apply textures on the back of windows explorer"

This option is unfortunately grayed out.

Is it available only if a style has provided for it?

Or is it a problem with windows 10?

Does anyone know how to activate this option?

In the end I would have liked to be able to put transparency on this background.

Thank you in advance for the answers.

That is "a problem with Windows 10"

I can't find the old thread. however what was discussed and told was. Windows 10 will not allow changes to it's now called "Explorer Window". However Stardock was able to at least change the window background color when making a WindowBlind. So you will see the window for different Windowblind's has different colors. The window color is changed using SKS.

Dave do you know where that's located in SKS?

Hello ALMonty,

In SKS you can change color for Explorer background for Windows 10 at -> Change skin colour -> Show me the skin defined system colours -> Its in the last four colors on that list specifically for Windows 10

Al, what Jazlan said.

Thanks Jazlan.

Every time there's a "How To" change something in SKS I save it to a text file. Maybe someday I'll have enough for instructions on how to make a WB.;P

How about the left hand side in explorer, the tree view background?

Al win7/8 Edit Explorer Parts/Folders bar/Extra settings/background color. Changes the left side color

Win 10   Change skin colour - Show me the skin defined system colours On very right side "Explorer Folders bar background (Win10) Changes Left side. The color above this changes the right side. (Explorer background (Win10)

One more question. I'm using Win 10 but I have a Win 8 theme loaded. In SKS where can I change the explorer background if it has "No Image Defined"? I want to change a white background to a color or add an image.

Al,

As mentioned if you on Win 10 . with any theme loaded you can only change the color. And the location of change will be in the SKS as mentioned previously.

I found it. I was looking in the wrong spot. I found out that you can change it in the WB config>Change system colors without editing the skin.

Sorry my mistake. After 16 years I'm still learning.

I do have to mention Jazlan I changed the taskbar color in Simplic10 to match the color around the start button and the clock area. The white hid some of the Win 10 apps icons which are also white.

I realize that, just that, it actually not white. It more like lite cream and on my computer it look fine with white icons. Maybe a bit hard but still noticeable, at least for me.
