Groupy 1.02 installer .EXE reported as "unsafe" by SmartScreen Filter

I recently purchased the Desktop Essentials Bundle and when I went to download the various installer .EXEs from the Stardock site the Windows SmartScreen Filter reported that the Groupy installer (Groupy1.02_setup_sd.exe) is "unsafe" and refused to download.

I know I can bypass SmartScreen, but I wanted to know whether anyone else had encountered this?

OS is Windows 7 Ultimate sp1.

Thanks,

Stephen Posey

It is safe if you are downloading from our site.

I also removed your email from your post, there is no need to post that in a public forum.

Hi,

I am also having the same issue as above. I am trying to download the Groupy Demo.

Groupy-sd-setup.exe is unsafe to download and was blocked by Windows Defender SmartScreen.

Hello,

As mentioned by ID (reply #1), it is save.

Same here.

Looks like the Groupy installer is not signed by Stardock, and it shows as Unknown Publisher. In contrast, other programs show publisher as Stardock (trusted publisher).

Could you correct this please? Should solve the issue.

Sorry about that, not sure why it randomly failed signing. I've replaced the installer with a signed copy.

Hey arbit12:

Thank you for getting to the bottom of the problem. Seems like the Stardock folks should have been a bit more concerned and proactive about it on their own.
