I bought Object Desktop but activation code does not work

I have the PayPal receipt.

So I bought Object Desktop, but didn't have any kind of Stardock account when I bought it as I had no idea this site required accounts.

 

I paid for this item (Object Desktop) using my PayPal account.

 

Got a screen after paying, which had all my purchase info on it including the Product Key.

 

Installed the installer for Object Desktop, then discovered I needed a Stardock account, which I made. However this meant that your site didn't have any purchase info for me.

 

I went into my account after verifying the mail, tried to apply my Product Code on the "Register Product" page for this Öbject Desktop" product, and get this error message:

Error

The serial entered is not valid.

 

...what the...?...I have the PayPal receipt. Can someone fix this now?

Yep, they're at the automated response stage. I need a human to intervene and get me the product I paid for.

You need to merge your PayPal account to your Stardock account.

You can't merge a PayPal account with a Stardock account.

 

Anyway.

 

I'm talking with somebody on CS side of things but they seem to have entirely vanished for the past 24 hours...this is taking too long for my comfort zone, losing confidence fast here. Would have thought it would just be a matter of hooking up my purchase info to the Stardock account...a few clicks?

 

Where is my Customer Support?

I'm sorry for your trouble. But since Stardock Main on weekend right now, I can't do much to help on your Stardock account Problem. This problem need to be delay until Stardock Main come back on Monday.

So my Customer Support guy who emailed me over a day and a half ago got my detailed email then just looked at his watch saw it was 5pm and buggered off home with my account still in a mess?

That doesn't work, I put my email in (both my Stardock account email and my PayPal account email) and got the following error both times:

 

Account Lookup Failure

We could not locate any keys associated with the email address you provided. Please try any other addresses you may have used; perhaps an email address you use for payments (PayPal).

If you are still unsuccessful, please click here to place a support ticket.

 
 

Just opened up Object Desktop application on my computer, refreshed the last page on it (subscriptions) and found I can now install things.

Thankyou! Though I would prefer it actually DELETED rather than given a black effect on top of the characters...

 

I have a suggestion also - to avoid this exact issue ever happening again to another person, can you make it so people cannot buy your products without being logged into their account.

 

This would never have happened at all if I'd been made aware that I needed an account to make the software function. I assumed I would get a product key that I could put into the Object Desktop app on my computer, which would allow installation of the products I wanted.

 

Basically either allow people to put in their product keys using the Object Desktop app, OR make it so people have to have and be logged in on their Stardock accounts before they can buy.

 

This would save us all the hassle.
