(Fixed) Image Upload Limit on WC?

Give us the rules, please....?

Hey devs. Good on ya for the ability to upload images directly.

Now, I just tried and was greeted with an image upload limit reached error.  Am I only allowed so many images in a time slot, per thread, or what?

If there are rules and limitations, it would be good to know what they are, please.  TIA..

Don't abuse the picture upload. They'll take it away. :'(

As I said on the other thread: "Can't Post... Do This.., it may well be an automatic protection built into the system to prevent the forums from overloading and possibly crashing, and to prevent overall site slow-down.

That's just a guess on my part, but it makes sense.  It could be a matter of waiting 20 - 30 minutes, perhaps even less in some instances, then trying again.

Hopefully a dev or mod will come along to clarify this for us. :)

Without any direct feedback from T-man I'd expect there will be a frequency limit (time) to counter spammers...but also I'm hoping it'll be set up differentially with reference to access levels.... (nudge nudge wink, Pat).....;)

I would love to know in which program I could see the "true" orientation of my images. Just for shits and giggles.

I am confused. What is reality......lol?

Image upload restrictions

  1. Image upload feature is available to access level 2 and higher
  2. Max file size is 5MB
  3. Abandoned images. 30 abandoned images within 15 days.
Abandoned image definition:   Images that are not assigned to a post.
Images are uploaded immediately, if you delete the image from your post before saving your post, it is still uploaded to the server but not assigned to any post.  Or never save your post.  This is an abandoned image.  So if you haven't saved your post yet, the images are considered abandon.  There will be a job to clean up abandoned images after 15 days.  Admins are excluded from this rule.

That is currently the restrictions we have applied.

Other rules I'm considering:

  1. Upon upload, resizing the image to something like a max size of 1024 since max width we currently are displaying in somewhere around 900 pixels.
  2. The number of images per post. Currently it is effectively set at 30 because of the abandoned image rule.   But maybe something like 5-10 images per post.  Access level might adjust the the quantity.
  3. Ban Jafo because its fun.

Does the 5MB maximum image size for the forums mean that the image size for uploads will increase, or will it still be limited to the tiny 2MB size?

FYI.. I have not uploaded any images for several days and I am getting that message as well

Did the same to me last night and I haven't uploaded but maybe 2 images. So I had to link image from another site instead. :(

Someone will be taking a look at the issue.

I haven't uploaded any yet and still I get that 'exceeded the upload image limit' thing.

I believe I have finally found the Image Upload Limit bug and fixed it.  So for those who were not able to upload due to that error, you should be able to now.
