At Steam with opt_in-v.2.3 Preview the main game menu  has the sign 2.0. (2.3 b the right?)

Without the opt_in-v.2.3 Preview the main game menu  has the sign 2.1     (2.2 the right?)

Quests crash game : Bacco, Fire!, Keepers of Secret..

I can confirm - my game menu still says 2.0?

It still says 2.0 for me as well after said directions.

Yes, we didnt update the version string. But please verify that the ZoC issue is fixed.

So far, ZoC is rock steady! Will keep testing.

Great news, thanks for getting this fixed (hopefully no one finds it still broken) Derek!

OH, it just released as well on non-beta.

Still reading 2.0 as version.

AWESOME work mister Jesse Brindle! Thanks Stardock to care about previous released games!

Awesome thanks! Now how about spending some serious development cycles on FE:LH 2.0? This is best game Stardock ever made in my opinion.

Thank you, Jesse & Derek!  I truly cannot express how much I appreciate this.  ZoC works like a charm now.  Huzzah!!

I would love to see another version as well. And the ZOC is working great!

Ok,

So...some good news and some bad news.

First, the good:  ZoC fix seems to be working after many save reloads.  Awesome!  Though it wasn't game breaking, it was SO irritating!

Next, the bad:  there are now multiple quests that have a very repeatable crash-to-desktop as soon as you complete them:

Bacco the Beggar, 'Trapped Wildlings' and the 'explore the cave' quest all CtD as soon as you complete them.

This happens in both vanilla and modded versions, after the ZoC fix patch.  I have a save game ready at winter 170 (just before Bacco's quest will pop), but I don't see an easy way to upload the file to the forums.

Really you should be able to repeat this pretty easily with any new game.  Just try completing Bacco's quest and having him join you.  Like I said though, I've seen the crash happen on other quests too.

Finally:  a feature request.  Quick-load.  Couldn't we PLEASE get Cntrl+L to quick load the quick save?  Please?!?

Anyway...just my observations.  I absolutely love this game.  It is addictive enough that I still regularly look forward to getting home from work to start up a new game and lose a few hours in it!

Edit:  I'm running the latest version, through Steam, on Windows 7.

On a related note, I'm also noticing multiple quests that still leave their icon on the map after they are completed, though you can't re-activate them by visiting them...it's like a 'dead' icon just didn't get cleaned up.

I have noticed the quest icons not clearing as well!

Ok,

I saw there is a patch out today....but now the disappearing ZoC bug is back...it was nice while it lasted :(

The patch was reverted, but is available as an opt-in now.

Thanks, Stardock, for still supporting this fantastic game. You really got the 4x thing right with this. But I'm still seeing some bothersome bugs. I have a vanilla, unmodified, reinstalled version. I opted into the latest beta, but saw these bugs before then:

* The Arena quest is appearing multiple times on the map. It crashes before I can gather rewards from it; this is a reliable, reproducible crash and I've had two consecutive games with the Arena appearing twice.

* Wandering, unaffiliated heroes spawn over and over. Kill them and on the next turn, they appear a square or two away, kill them, reappear, kill them, etc....

* On rare occasions, I've seen enemy archers stack on top of each other in the combat screen (I've not seen more than two do this), which makes it impossible to target just one -- not to mention it's clearly a bug.

* The terrain z-axis does funny things with LOS. Sometimes, units cannot be targeted behind a hill, even after rounding the hill. I have to engage with melee to bring them down, although the enemy units have no problem with LOS from their location.

* And a cheat: I auto-combat dragons because, apparently, the AI doesn't take the Fear or fire breath abilities into consideration for auto-combat. They're way easier to kill that way.

I've also had random game crashes -- sometimes as frequently as every third turn, reliably. It seems dependent on the leaders chosen by the AI or maybe just one bugged leader. I can go entire games with very few to no crashes, but can get caught up in very frustrating games of turn, turn, turn, crash, repeat. I've looked at the err.log and it doesn't give me any useful info. I've deleted the data.zip with little to no success for this -- but that doesn't stop me from trying.

I'm not silly enough to think all these things will be fixed, but I'm heartened by you still digging into the code from time to time. If I can be of any help for error logs, etc., please let me know.

Good Morning Derek

Wow! A big thank you for continuing to work on Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes. This was easily been my favorite TBS game to date. However, after the ver2.0 release, things became quite...buggy...to the point where it was next to unplayable. Again, thank you for your continued efforts. I see now you are at version 2.3 and this really tempts me to dive back into the game.

However, before I do - I was wondering - is there a 'polishing' patch on the horizon? Back in 2014, I had created a post about some ideas/concepts that I was considering at the time. Granted some of the ideas were extensive (like reworking how wildlands work in the game), but many are just balancing items and such.

https://forums.elementalgame.com/452034/page/1/

Has any such balancing taking place for the game?

Additionally, could it also be possible if Stardock went through the current mods listing to see how many fixes can be woven into the base game (so users were not as mod-dependant)?

Hopefully,

Mike

Sadly, that 2.3 update actually got rolled back.

Likely they still need someone to get freed up from all the other games in development to get any work done again on this.
