Option to hide preview

Is there any option to hide the preview which is shown when hovering the mouse to an inactive tab?

Not currently but we can look into adding one.

I agree with adding an option to disable this.

This has been added to the upcoming 1.01 release.

It will be accessed via the More settings button on the Visuals page in the configuration screen.
