Groupy 0.85 Beta Update Now Available

An update for the beta of Groupy is now available for Object Desktop members.

Updated:

  • Added auto grouping options to include all Example.exe processes in the same group.
  • Added initial popup indicating how to use Groupy.
  • Added middle button to close a tab option.
  • Changed closing a tab to switch back to the previously used tab vs the first.
  • Fixes for tab bar becoming non responsive to clicks.
  • Improved compatibility for Photoshop, Visual Studio, virtual desktops (Win10), and WindowBlinds.
  • Improved tab switching performance.
  • Tweaked UI and animation.
  • Not fixed: Microsoft Edge slowdown. It's being worked on.

Installation: this beta is only for Object Desktop customers. When prompted to activate, select "Stardock account" and enter your Stardock account email and password. Trials are off by design atm.

Middle click on tabs to close them doesn't seem to work here. Anybody with this issue ?
It looks more solid than it was the last version...
Another request if I may: the colors options are weird, basically no matter what you select as active/inactive tabs doesn't actually apply...

Which OS are you on and which tab mode?

The colour options only apply to tabs set to appear above the titlebar.

Windows 10 v1703, middle click doesn't work with both combine and always above.

The color options don't hold with the option of tabs above titlebar either.

[Edit] Ok, I think it's more of a terminology issue than anything else, basically I expected the tab bar to be the same color as the unfocused active tab.Maybe add a third option for the tab bar only ? (average of tab color + white looks really bad on a non standard visual theme tbh, if combine was playing nice with every app I would just use that but... non standard UIs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).
Also: can we get an option to set the active tab color when using combine ? I love dark UIs (less aggressive on the eyes) and that white highlight is... painful 😅

Btw if you guys somehow find a way to add child windows and make it a save-able setting... you're my heroes (can't group some windows using their own custom drawn titlebars+control because of this :( )

This update corrected an unexpected Excel 2016 behavior (regardless of being grouped) - when attempting to open an excel spreadsheet I would receive an error:  "unable to send command to program" resulting with my being unable to open the data without browsing to it from Excel 2016.

Once I upgraded to Groupy 0.85 Beta Update - problem vanished!  Thanks!

Updated from previous version to 0.85 and on the apps that I've been grouping stopping grouping (I've confirm it's not in the exclude list)

auto grouping on explorer does only work if u have already made a group of 2 or more explorer windows.

if u have no group and u open the explorer 2 times it wil not automaticly group both.
