freezes from time to time

Recently the objectdocks (both the quicklaunch dock and the tabbed dock) freeze from time to time.  Moving the cursor over an icon or clicking on it does nothing. If I wait a while it will then respond to a mouse click. Not sure exactly when this problem started but it defeats the purpose of a quicklaunch dock. I use both docks and i find that if one is frozen then the other is also.

I have version 2.20.0.862 and when i click on 'check for updates' it says it is current despite the copyright of 2002-2014.

Suggestions? If not then I will have to put all of my icons back onto my cluttered desktop.

Objectdock is not supported for Windows 10.

You didn't say what OS you are using. It's not compatible with Win10 although some people are using it without problems. If your not on Win10 I suggest contacting support.

Btw StarDock won't be updating ObjectDock as far as we know.

(Working from faded memory here.)  I think OD has a "troubleshooting" section in its configuration screens.  One of the options was something like "temporarily disable docklets".  If you have any docklets in there, try that, they're a good place to start, and see if the problem goes away.  Then you'll know if you have a troublesome docklet that you can fish out.  You can of course try the other troubleshooting options as well.

is there an alternative?

There is a forum entry about Winstep Nexus https://forums.stardock.com/489213/conmpetitors

After reading the replies of the above link I bit the bullet and bought Winstep Nexus Ultimate. It has more polish than object dock (OD) and appears to be Stabler than OD.

I am still learning how to use it but so far it seems to be at least as easy to use. It looks that is will enhance your productivity better than OD and the eye candy is better. Most importantly, it is actively supported.
