Your OS is the insider fast rack? If so there may be conflicts not showing up in the RTM version.

Starting about the time my rig finally got updated to 1703, CFX (2.16.0) began behaving oddly.  About half the time I log on both the system & CFX cursors display, the other half of logons show the CFX cursors only.  When both display, CTRL+Shift+C just toggles the CFX cursor off & on while the system cursor stays put.  I uninstalled & re-installed the app but the behavior has not changed.  Curious if any others have encountered this.

It's now literally alternating with every other boot - normal CFX cursors one boot, both the next.  May submit a ticket.

I just made a proper re-install and now it works Perfectly, everywhere, all of the time. :star:

-I don't think it's the Cfx software that is not working, seems like it's something else.

I uninstalled & reinstalled but wasn't as lucky as you, neone6.:annoyed:

Unfortunately on some systems some stuff just seem to be troublesome :(

Only problem I had with the creator's update was with Iconpackager. After the update all icons went back to being ugly yellow. After re applying the icon pack all is well. CursorFx works fine as do the rest. No problems here. Not yet anyway.

I had the same problem, and I found the cause to be fast startup being enabled. If it was previously disabled (like I had it before), the most recent Windows 10 update re-enabled it. The setting is in the control panel under choose what the power buttons do.

Hum?? Of course it went to default system icons. Are you expected that Stardock and Microsoft working together which automatically applying Iconpackager after Windows updates??

Strange.  That reply 4 from brianliu does not appear in my thread - reply 4 here is from neone6, but Fast Startup remains unchecked (disabled) here in any event.

That's because I pasted those quotes from the other thread.

I understand it but when I enter the PayPal account and when I buy the program I miss several errors twice and I get my email  [email] twice charging me and they did not send me the program,
It will not be more easy to put it straight to be the purchase so there are no problems, I would like to have Cursor FX program v2.16 full

I understand you have had an order issue, they all showed failed here - its why I want you to pace the ticket, as it, and your personal email, is not well discussed in the forums.

As long as this thread has been revived, the issue remains with version 1709, which is the version I'm currently running.  SD support believes the issue is resolved with the Fall Creators Update, but I've done everything I can to delay/avoid feature updates in self-defense (shoutouts to Jafo & DrJBHL), so it may be a while before I can confirm whether it is indeed resolved with the FCU.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I  am not sure if someone else have suggested to you to try the purge and reinstall for CursorFX?

https://forums.stardock.com/485856/cursorfx-support-faq#reinstalling

If not, please try it and just to make sure re download cursorfx from your account and install that version. Make sure to reboot before and after the install.

Report back here for more assistance.

Thanks.

Thanks, basj  - I've done that previously but I'll give it another shot this weekend & post again.

I had in fact NOT tried the purge utility before, just a thorough uninstall/reinstall (twice).  The purge utility appears to have fixed it - at least through a couple of reboots.  So far so good.

So, thanks again, basj!

Great, glad you solved it.

Just a small PS -

It appears the Support FAQ that includes a link to the purge utility was published in November of 2017.  I submitted a support ticket on the issue in January of this year and was told in reply that the issue had been forwarded to the development team for review which, in retrospect, seems odd as they apparently had the solution 2 months prior & didn't point me to it.

But all's well that ends well.  CFX appears to be properly functioning now.

CURSORS! Foiled again!  The fix lasted roughly 48 hours and about 5 reboots.  Now back to random dual cursors once more.

Sorry the hear that. Can you tell more more. Could you share some information on your display setups. Things such as single, dual or more monitors? Resolution of each monitor. And scaling applied to those monitors.

Thank you,
