Icons move between fences after restoring

Using two monitors at office and at home

So when I travel between my office and home, I have two different monitor setups.

Therefore, I have to restore my snapshot.

When I do, icons move between fences.

Appears to be a bug in the software.

Thanks, Rick

This continues to be a problem.    It's only related to recent icons that are moved.   They move back after switching locations.

Very frustrating.

I take it you're moving a laptop from home to work and at each location are connecting to different monitors?

If that's the case I wouldn't be describing it as a 'bug' but perhaps something actually outside of the scope of the program capabilities.

I'll point the thread to support for consideration...;)

Hi:

Was curious if you've had a chance to review this issue.   Still happening and continuing to be a time waster . . .

Thanks, Rick

Well decided to take action on this.   Here are some of the issues I've been experiencing:

1)  icons moving between fences when I change locations

2)  screen flashing on several of my office 365 applications

3)  office applications hanging

4)  very strange multiple windows appearing with Excel - that is, when I move my spreadsheet from full screen there is a shadow behind that doesn't go away . . . .really don't know how to describe this, very strange

I've been fighting with the above for several months, incredibly time consuming, particularly having to move icons back to where they belong every morning.

So, after reading many of the posts in the forum, and possibly related issues,  I decided to UNINSTALL fences (windows 10 version 3.05) a few hours ago, and guess what ALL and I mean ALL of the above issues have gone away.   Friggin unbelievable!!!

I will continue to see is the issues stay resolved or if issues 2 through 4 come back.   And if I jumped to a conclusion that Fences was the culprit, I'll will let you know and express my apologies.  But right now, it's looking pretty good.

Thanks, Rick

Ok, as you know I stopped using Fences about six months ago due to the issues mentioned above.

So my question is "Has there been an update in the last six months to fix the above described issues?"

Thanks, Rick

P.S.  BTW, I wanted to apologize to Stardock regarding issues 2 through 4, they were NOT caused by Fences.  They were related to an NVIDIA N-View application that was behaving badly on a high resolution monitor.  HOWEVER, issue 1 is still the issue with respect to whether or not I reinstall Fences.   The last version I had was 3.05.  Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Fences is currently at 3.0.8.1. I have not see the problem on number 1 on my system.
