Changing vanilla textures

Hello, I've been playing forever, typically as advent. I also like playing against advent, but if I am other enemies are advent I get really confused. Team colors do not solve this problem. They are not severe enough, as I sit further away from my computer screen.

I was wanting a way to drastically change the color of the vanilla advent ships. They have a blueish hue to them, but what if I wanted them to be red instead, or even change them entirely? I found a few diffuse textures for advent, but most are not in the texture folder.

How can I make this happen?
