QuickAccess titlebar toolbar in Windows 10? [Solved by DaveRi!]

Trouble getting QuickAccess buttons in titlebar to work

I love the "The Captain" skin included with the latest WindowBlinds, but the new QuickAccess titlebar toolbars for things like MS Office and Windows Explorer don't work.  They work fine with the Modern and Windows 8 skins, but in "The Captain" the buttons register the mouseover, but not a left or right click -- they seem to be overlaid by the standard caption function of right-clicking for the system menu and double-clicking for maximize/restore.

I've done a text compare on the UIS and SSS files and haven't found the difference.  I also tried greater margins for the titlebar caption, but that didn't seem to help, plus the Modern and Windows 8 skins have the same margins.

Any ideas?  Now that MS has gotten rid of normal toolbars, these QuickAccess buttons have started to matter.

You might try changing the "OS Caption Height" from 24 to 23.  I have a program with buttons in the titlebar and that fixes it.

Edit Titlebars and WindowFrames / Edit UIS2 Frames / Borders / [Extra settings]tab / 6th item down.

If 23 doesn't do it, try 22 or 25.

YES!!!!   OS Caption Height of 23 solved the problem.

Man, that was sneaky.  How in the word did you figure that one out?  I'm normally pretty good at inspired-trial-and-error, but I'm not sure I would have stumbled upon that one for a long, long time.

OS Caption Height did, in fact, turn up in the side-by-side text compare in Notepad++, but I ignored it, figuring that Modern wanted a taller caption/titlebar than Captain, and having no idea it would impact the buttons.

I'm both impressed and grateful.  Thank you.

I really don't remember, other than it was one of those things that was nagging at me and I finally chased it down.

For my little program, there is usually a small range that will let it work.  The range varies between skins, I think it's related to the caption image height.  I don't really know how the Caption Height works or what all it affects, and I have no idea how a person would decide what a "correct" setting would be, but I'm not above nudging it a few points to make things work. ;)   Like anything else, the less you nudge it the less apt you are to mess something else up.

Glad it got it.
