Save As.. ??

Manual save?

Is there a way to do a manual save at all?

I would prefer to do a Save As to a named point so I can start a second game without overwriting the first one.

Also, a Quick Save option would be nice so I can save before my display driver crashes...

I've long wanted a quick save button, but as far as I know there isn't one.

To manually save, click on the III icon in the upper left corner.  That will bring up a menu of Save/Load/etc, if you click on Save it will bring up a list of saved games, you can type a name for your save into the entry box at the top of the list, or click on a save in the list of saves to overwrite that one.

Thanks for the reply.  There is a Quick Save, though it doesn't always seem to work: <ctrl-S>

I FINALLY found that <esc> brings up the menu that you describe, which acts a lot like the GCII save/load menu.

Odd that this incredibly basic stuff is NOT mentioned in the pitiful "Manual".  And I couldn't find it anywhere immediately accessible on the Wiki, though I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

Thanks, Admiral.  I replaced my video card and suddenly had an urge to play GCIII, partly as a stress test, and partly because I finished the biggest part of my work on maiden's Future Worlds mod for GCII.  (It's really good.)

Surprising how much of GCIII is non-intuitive, even for one as familiar as I with GCII.  I still miss keypad movement.
