ship style validation error

I have been experiencing a bug, it seems to pop up randomly after closing and restarting the game. The errors say "Ship style" has failed to validate. unknown ship class... In the intervening time the game was existed, and simply restarted.

This has happened to me and it was caused by including ship class(es) in a ship style that were not recognized by the game. It was two new designs that I had added. I think it is a bug that they didn't validate but I fixed it by replacing them with previous designs.

Just wondering why some ship classes fail to validate. I suspect it is using parts from a mod, but not sure.

One reason that may cause this is if you have a ship style that uses ship parts from a DLC faction that you don't own or have installed.  For example, I'll get this error sometimes if I make a faciton using the Snathi ships and then uninstall the Snathi DLC.

Do you have any mods enabled?  Do you have subscribed ships in steamworks?

I have the same error two of my drengin ship styles wont validate.
