sub vs sub units wont die, health goes negative

shield depleted and health continues to tick negative, wasting attacks

How do I provide the replay? This is my first bug report.

I played the ranked game this morning, not a big deal but I actually believe I would have won these engagements if my static defenses had not been wasting their attacks. It was Lord_zorkly vs... Rebellion (I think?)

I know that health goes negative sometimes, but these were T1 and T2 units with health exceeding -900, beginning around -10... they survived for as long as 15 seconds (or more) beyond death.

Unfortunately, this is "par  for the course" in any replay.  If any given battle comes depends on a unit or 2, the end result may/will turn out differently. At least on my rig, which isn't bugged as far as I know. Somehow, the victory seems to always turn out right though.

So you are saying that the issue is confined to the replay and not the game that I actually played?

I was wondering if that was the case, but while playing I deployed two turrets on the south side of the map, which I thought would end the two separate battles I placed them in, but both seemed to be shooting at the same target over and over - once it was a radar contact but the trajectory of the animation looked like it was heading to the same place every time (in the replay, it appears to be a building with extremely negative HP) and the other turret was attacking a lone reaper, last in the squad of 4, and allowed enemy drone MRV to take out my turret while it wasted attacks on the reaper.

When I watched the replay to critique my strategy, I noticed that the two turrets I deployed that "didn't win the battle" were in fact occupied with 'dead' units... as I seemed to remember happening moments before during the game.

I've noticed HP go negative before, but the unit dies within moments of negative HP... also 90% of my games are sub vs PHC and the first ranked sub vs sub game that I ever remember playing, was shortly after the 2.3 patch went live, and this happened. As a software developer myself, I thought I ought to report it (plus I really think I would have won that ranked game!)

Thanks for the reply, please confirm if this sounds routine, or if this is a known issue with replays.

eek...sorry for late reply.

I can really only speak for myself (not an online player), but I will confirm that there are serious shenanigans going on in replays. I run a lot of simulations (observer mode in AI vs AI) and see the same ridiculous HP numbers you've talked about here in all of the replays. I've seen some cases during the skirmish as well, but I'm convinced they were simply cases of overkill and negative HP units didn't fire anymore even if the unit didn't vanish right away.  You can see this in Sentinel vs frigate if you're paying attention.

Speaking of simulations I'll digress briefly...I always run PHC vs Sub and Sub appears to win >70% of the skirmishes.  I would have imagined a little more parity between the 2. Sub OP or PHC UP?:| or is it how the AIs play each?

Substrate AI is just better, the 2 factions are quite well balanced right now.
