I have to double click my desktop to hide fences every time I reboot.  Yall gotta fix the thing where always show icons at startup is CHECKED by default. It should not be checked. Quick hide is useless if you have to set it every reboot, guys.

My apologies. I was very cranky last night. Rough day.

When are you guys going to add a disable option for the icon desktop movement animations? I like my standard Windows snaps. Including features without ways to disable them is a pretty bad developing ethnic.

All in all, thanks for the update.

Edit:

One more simple addition to the Fences button creation feature to allow no click/button drag. Basically to disable it completely until you want to use it again.

Also possibly another addition to add a option to set a key + Left/Right Mouse Drag.

So I got the prompt update in the launcher for this, and when i tried to update, it asked for Disk 2. Which I have no idea where the heck that would be, or why its asking for another disk. Then I clicked cancel, and it asked for disk 3, and I clicked cancel, and again it asked for another disk, and so on and so forth until finally it failed the update. Any ideas?

As someone else noted, "I can now drop icons into rolled up fences."

However, if I  hold shift down because I want to move instead of copy my file into a shortcut inside my rolled-up fence that points to a folder on another drive, then the rolled-up fence still remains rolled up rather than expanding when the file is dragged over the fence.

This functionality used to work in older versions. I use it quite frequently. With the beta version instead of doing a move I have to do a copy and then  remember to execute a separate delete.

Many thanks for the progress. But can you please fix this scenario with dragging and dropping into a rolled-up fence while holding the shift key down, too? Until you do, this dropping-inside-rolled-up-fences functionality is still a downgrade from the prior release.

Thanks

We've not seen that before nor know what might be causing it.  A clean uninstall and reinstall will likely fix you up though.

Good afternoon!

I'd like to localize the program into Russian.
Who should I contact to get a translation language file?

User-translations are not supported at this time.  Sorry.

I am not sure I understand what you are asking; there is no way currently to disable Fence creation unless you Lock Fences. (Right-click on empty desktop, select View, select "Lock Fences")

Updated from 3.04 and rebooted and my system hung due to Microsoft Security Essentials detecting Fences.exe as a trojan

https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?name=Trojan%3aWin32%2fAzden.A!cl&threatid=2147718745&enterprise=0

Manually added the .exe to the safe list and rebooted and it works now.

- Anyone else had a similar issue? (Windows 7 x64, Security Essentials v4.10.209) definitions up to date

AWESOME - THANK YOU!!!!

New Feature: the Backspace key now works to back out of a folder within a fence, (but not my mouse back and forward buttons? that work in explorer) - Any chance of adding this feature?

Fence Title icon still moves :( - would be nice if this could be fixed to ease navigation also

If you have the Steam edition installed, you can run this and it will update as expected: https://stardock.cachefly.net/Fences_3.05_beta_sd.exe
