Momentary Freezes in Game

I'm having issues since the last update came out.  Game play has become "jittery" with the game momentarily freezing then continuing every few seconds to minutes, I'm also seeing the problem inside the menu screens before I even start a game.

When freezes occur the audio continues and the mouse pointer will move, but otherwise the game becomes unresponsive for a second or so.

My system meets or exceeds the recommended specs, and I've updated my graphics drivers (both Intel and Nvidia, it's a laptop) to the latest available with no success.  I've also tinkered with the graphics settings, dropping them considerably and tried both DX11 and DX12 to see if anything changes, but the issue persists.

The game was running fine before the update with most of the graphics settings turned up fairly high.

Anybody else having issues?  Any thoughts?

Check to see if onedrive is running. Win 10 only, I saw the pauses too, I turn off one drive, and it helps a lot. Another would be Acronis, or any utility similar. They update, during game play keeping your image, or whatever up to date. One Drive, EaseUs ( partition magic like). These do live updates as things change on your system.  I saw a difference..

I have also seen this in game as described.  I have Windows 7 and I didn't change anything on my system.  The game literally freezes for about 0.5 - 1 second once in a while.  The game runs flawlessly on my system besides that with lots of units and everything.  Not sure why this is happening, but it would be great to have a fix.

Ive seen this and found somethings I needed to fix. Everything wants to stick something in the tray. Updaters, Monitors, Anti Virus..

Try disabling things in your system tray. Try one at a time, you can either turn one off at a time, or turn them all off, then re-enable them one at a time. Can be slow, but may find the culprit this way. I use a couple of system cleaners on mine, they have some startup settings you can disable things from the app. Also maybe check performance meter to see if the cpu or disk is being used 100% at anytime. It also shows the impact of the running processes or apps on your system.
