Upon Ship completion - Stay Docked!!!

It would be a really nice feature that you could set shipyards so that when the complete a ship the ship stays docked rather than auto eject and then have to move it back into the shipyard.

I would even be fine if it still cost a movement. It just seems a bit micro management.

How/where do you set shipyard rally point?

Under Govern find the tab Commands.  set all ships from this shipyard to this rally point.  However, I am not sure you can set a rally point on an object, but there are several options you can use and something might work out for you.

It used to be that if you click on the shipyard (or planet back in GCII) days you could pick the launch direction of the ships from that point. It would seem like a simple feature to code but it has been missing since GCII.

Something I don't understand down to the present day ... something more to wish to be brought back in Crusade ... ?

I just wish it would default to remaining docked; as I'm always forgetting to set that when I first create my shipyards.  Then, unless the ship is a Colonizer, it invariably pops out in the wrong direction.

Granted, popping out in the right direction is a boon: as you then have the extra movement point (which you lose when the shipyard is it's own destination.  However, that extra movement point is of minimal help when your ship pops out heading the complete opposite direction.  Sure, I can go to all the trouble to create a Rally Point and head it there; but that's a lot of work.  So, I'd just as soon the ship remains docked and simply gets added to the "Idle" list; as it's docked rather than in orbit.

In fact, the programmers can even go so far as to halt production until the ship leaves the dock; but I'm sure that concept won't go well with others.

Click on the shipyard

Then click on the  Rally Point  tab.

Then click on Shipyards and find the one with Zero distance and select it.

Yeah as mentioned you can do it already by setting the shipyard as it's own rally point. Handy feature, I did it in my last game. Sometimes you forget that you have ships finished building but still nice not to nagged when when building lots of quick-to-build ships.
