Massive memory requirements leading to crash on start up

Attached is a screen shot of the game booting.  I have 16 gigs of ram, and unless I close down everything, the game crashes on start up.  This ram is released after loading, and I can re open anything I like.  I have seen that Ashes front loads all assets, which I see in game, little loading times, but why does it use over 7 gigs, when even big campaign maps it's barely hitting 4.  Graphically my settings aren't super pretty, which makes me wonder why this is.  It should be noted that the game is on steam, and the library is on a 2 disk raid, not sure if it's causing issues(being it really should only see it as 1 drive).

Have you disabled virtual memory?

The game preloads all assets it needs the ram and first if you don't have that amount to spare you should probly do a cleanup on your pc.

Try double your pagefile should fix it I guess.if you have disabled virtual memory turn it on

Don't see any screen shots.

What GPU you got?  What OS?  Are you playing DX11 or DX12?

Are you playing with any switches when the game launches?

I don't see anything wrong with the game using that much, then releasing it when you exit the game.

P.S, never disable virtual memory, it is used by lots of things, and windows is smart enough to only use it when it needs it.

When I look at my memory before I start game, I am using 3.3 gig, with firefox open. I have a total of 16 gig ram. If ashes takes 7m whats taking the other 9? That seems too high. I am running win10.

OP, also, you do have lots of stuff running in the background as well, I would NEVER play a game with AVAST (or any other program of that type) running.

I would turn off all the extra crap that is being loaded at boot time, and just run AotS then, and see if you have the same behavior.

The 3.3gig I use at idle is including Avast(in gaming mode), GeForce Experience, One Drive, Spotify,  and CCleaner monitor running. All that with Firefox open used 3.3gig. So lets say 4, then I have 12gig left for whatever. If your running out of memory with 16 gig, you have to be running a lot of stuff in the background.
