How are you guys finding Microsoft Edge after the Creators Update?

I'm liking it..........a lot. Quicker and more responsive than Chrome. Ublock Origin does a great job too knocking out all the pesky pop-ups. Seriously considering making it my default browser and getting rid of Chrome.

Switched my default browser from Chrome to Edge after the Anniversary Update. This latest update is great.

I haven't got the Creator's Update on my AMD rig as yet, but I didn't like Edge when I tried it about 12 months ago, nor Chrome for that matter, though given a better rap here, I may give Edge another chance once I have installed the Creator's Update.

Thing is, I have Win 10 updated over Win 8.1 and it's not running as well as it should.  The same thing happened on my HP 2-in-1, was running a bit clunky and a reformat fixed it, so I'm seriously considering doing the same again prior to getting any major updates or loading any more of my programs.

Give it another try, starkers. You may well be pleasantly surprised.

I will give it another try once I have reformatted later today and performed the updates, etc.  When I first tried Edge it was very new and still rather clunky, so I went back to Firefox and have been using it ever since.

Does the new Edge (or any other browser) automatically update all your bookmarks and settings between computers? If I log into Chrome with my GMail account, on any PC, Chrome updates all my bookmarks and settings on that PC based on the last PC I signed in on. I have never seen another browser that does that. Cellphone, laptop, tablet, desktop, it does not matter, they get updated. Really nice!

Why use Edge in the first place ? Please enlighten a simple peasant boy

Cutting "Edge" techno stuff don't ya know. MS is trying hard to rid themselves of this schism. Left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Typical...no?

i thought firefox does something like that... if you use sync? (not that i use sync or google accounts.)  i'm thinking maybe edge does it.. but on the bigger scale - you sign in to win10 with your ms account to get something similar across the whole win 10?

then again.. i only use edge to read pdf.. or maybe access sites that might not open with chrome/firefox (because i didn't stick ublock and other stuff like noscript on edge.. unlike other browsers)

They made it better, yet there is room for improvements.
It is good to see them closing the gap a little.

I just used Microsoft Edge for the first time. I can come here but......not a damn thing worked. Not only did Edge freeze up but it affected my mouse's ability to scroll! CursorFX is working fine, I have full control over it. But the damn browser won't let it do it's thing. I blame MS......again!

No problems using Edge. Mostly replacing Chrome now.

Still haven't got the Creator's Update so I can't say whether Edge is improved or not.  I've checked for updates a few times over a 36 hour period and nothing comes up, just a couple of things that I don't need.  Maybe it's a regional thing to thin out demand, and my area hasn't come up yet.

Oh well, I'm in no hurry.  Apparently it is available for download at various software hosting sites, but I can wait until it becomes available through Windows Update.

I got a notification that it was ready. I was asked to review my privacy settings. I did and found them to be where I set them. They didn't change, as far as I know. Just this one problem of not being able to drag and drop. I checked CursorFX, refreshed it and no change. Checked mouse pointer in control panel and nothing amiss there. Even set the compatibility mode to Win 8. No effect. I can still cut and paste but that's it.

Oh...and you can uninstall One Drive from settings>Apps. It lists all the programs on your system and clicking on one pops up a dialogue. Click on uninstall and done.

There is a known issue with CFX and some modern applications.

Press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+C to disable it and try again.

I never ever thought I'd see a thread having anything good to say about win10 here.

Same here. Restarted and still navigation jacked. Started searching for other reports and good ol' Wincustomize forums comes up 2nd. Once again, my thanks. Using IE until I get system 100% restored -- maybe next Tuesday... not giving up my CFX...nope. Definitely not.

And I'd wash my mouth out with soap and water if I had dared to utter such such a thing, publicly or otherwise.  Yup, even if I muttered something remotely like it under my breath to myself, I'd have to wash my mouth out with carbolic soap and water... cos I'd know I muttered it.

 :-"

I must say, though, the Pro Edition is better than the Home Edition.  At least with Pro I can defer updates and not have the monthly fight with WU downloading and installing unnecessary software/drivers that borked my Win 10 Home Edition HP 2-in-1 with monotonous regularity.  Even if I uninstalled unnecessary updates and hid them, I'd still get them via Scheduled Maintenance, something that has not occurred thus far with the Pro version [touch wood].

So yeah, while I'm NOT admitting to liking it or anything, my Win 10 experience has been somewhat better with the Pro Edition on my 2nd big beastie than it was/is on my HP 2-in-1 with Home.  In fact, I may even upgrade it to the Pro Edition if my usage warrants it now I'm using it less.

I have the creator's update. But I never use Edge so I don't know. I actually disabled Edge on purpose. I only use Chrome.

Yep, same here ID. Way snappier than Chrome.

Well I got the Creator's Update and I still don't like Edge.  It just seems to be missing something and feels a bit incomplete for mine, so no, I'll be sticking with Firefox for now.  I also use Opera on occasion, and I don't mind it, either.  It's lightweight and snappy enough for my liking, so I really have no need for another browser at this time.

Perhaps Edge will get some improvements for me to consider further down the track, but it does not appeal to me as is.

"How are you guys finding Microsoft Edge after the Creators Update?"

Kinda reminds me of that joke....

Waiter at the restaurant asks..."How did you find your steak, sir?"

Diner's reply...."I moved two peas and there it was."

Then there was the guy who asked the waiter to bring a doggy bag for his steak.

"A doggy bag, eh!  You must have enjoyed it to take the rest home"

"No, but I do have a pair of shoes at home with holes in their soles." :-"

I used to only use chrome. However after the new  creater tools and reading some articles on the internet, I now use edge a lot. It's really felxible and really practical. Check out this article I read which compares the different browsers: https://www.1and1.com/digitalguide/hosting/technical-matters/the-best-browsers-for-windows-and-mac/. Ofcourse, chrome is a good one, however in some aspects edge does outperform. Overall I think I use chrome and edge 50/50 in terms of how I split my time between them.
