Victory by Type Stats?

I thought I remember seeing a break down of victory types for all the games in the metaverse by percentage (you know conquest wins 25% vs research vs influence). I would like to know which ones seem to be the fewest ones accomplished

I would guess Ascension, but I ignore the Multiverse so couldn't tell you how to prove it.

I can't speak for the metaverse proper, but this is the breakdown that was captured on the AltMeta during its nine years of operation:

Military Conquest 55.6%
Political Victory 18.3%
Cultural Conquest 15.4%
Beyond Mortality 9.5%
Ascension Victory 1.0%

(Edit: just noticed DMF necro'd...)

Huh?  The post is unanswered and only a few months old.  With luck the poster will come back on the notification.

I'm shocked at the stats.  Is there any way to break down by universe size?  I play on very large canvases and almost never get a military vic.  Usually Diplo/Political or if I'm getting impatient, Tech.

OTOH, I can see Conquest on small canvases, so ?

Fascinating data set, but there's something going on.  Players winning 12-15 games per day on Gigantic/Immense-Suicidal in less than a year.  And with very respectable scores, all by Conquest.  Heck, it takes that long just to work your may across the map!  Fishy.

Let me suggest that the data is not representative of actual games.

I'm even more intrigued by the number of very long games.  One went 70 years!  I think my longest is 6.

Every single game on there is a 'real' game that was posted to the metaverse, which does not permit cheat codes or non-cosmetic mods. The data will be by definition skewed because it doesn't include non-metaverse games, which are the only way to play with functional mods and are probably the greater majority of games played. There are no records of non-metaverse games for GC2 (GC3 has better stats since it can track all games played).

Bear in mind also that the data spans all the way back to 1.0; there were strategies at various points that permitted very fast victories (spore rush, etc.) that were subsequently nerfed. At its peak, there was a big focus on getting the fastest military win possible on the biggest, highest difficulty map because that gave the highest score.

These games are called ZYW and can be played in a handful of minutes.

Even on the recent engines?

(I think you described something like this in a series of posts early this year, but IIRC you were using DL.)

Dark Avatar for scoremongering. Dread Lords is worst, but TOTA is also ok if one is using Super-Diplomat ZYW^^
