Jano's spell does not appear

Bug in the Relias Campaign?

Greetings,

   In the campaign where you play with Relias and wake up the Fallen Enchantress there is a quest: you must retrieve a spell (Jano's spell).

  I defeated the character that have this spell and the game gave me a message that I must use this spell in a certain spot to make a path and continue the game.

 I reached the spot but there is no Jano's spell in my inventory.

 Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

 I discovered that Jano's spell is not in the inventory. 

 At the right bottom of the screen there is a button labeled "spell".

Click on it and select "raise earth" and the path is open.
