Don't reset tilt when zooming (option)

[Deleted...  found that Ashes already had what I was asking for!]

Thanks for the continuing improvements!

What? So what is the fix? How do you change this option? I currently crash when tilting my camera. Sometimes I can use the MMB and sometimes I have to use shift.

If by 'fix' you mean technique, you just hold down the shift key while zooming.  Then the tilt is maintained.

I deleted my post because it was a discussion of how such a feature might be implemented - pointless once I found it was already available in an intuitive way.

Crashes of a stable feature in this game are often due to page file size.  Check around on that and experiment with making yours bigger.

Thank you for the reply. I have a page file of 8GB which is allocated on the SSD on which the system and game are installed. Is that sufficient? When I tilt the camera too far to the ground I crash. Does that happen with you? Do you feel that specific problem concerns the page file? Thanks again.

Note to everyone who dislikes using the shift key to get the pitch: I HAVE A FIX/WORKAROUND....

1. Select an engineer.

2. Hold shift and zoom in farther than you can without holding shift.

3. Order the placement of an object.

4. Now your MMB can be held down to control pitch, rotation, and can be spun to increase/decrease zoom all the while keeping your camera pitch the same.

I currently have 4GB of page file on each of two SSDs i.e. 8GB total.   So, probably, page file size is not your problem.  Though you could try adding more on a separate drive, temporarily.  Even if its a mechanical drive and slow, you might learn something.

Ashes does not crash for me with any amount of tilt & zoom.  Windows 10 64-bit w 8GB RAM.  NVidia GTX 770 Gfx w 4GB RAM.  Running DX12 (could not do that until I increased my page file to the settings described above).  Make sure, of course, that your video drivers aren't old.
