Help with 3ds Max set up and Exporting

I have been doing small mods for personal use off on on since Sins came out.  When rebellion came I tried to continue but was not able to due to the fact that the Sins 3ds Max Exporter stoped using dummys and started using bones.

I have looked all over the forum for a tutorial that explains how to set up the bones and get everything in place so all you have to do in export the model and it is ready to use in Sins.

Any Links and other help that can be give is highly appreciated

I don't know if any still uses an export tool for 3DS max, but this is the Sins modeling tutorial I recommend. It however assumes you will export from 3DS max to XSI so you can use softimage to do the final prep, then use the ConvertXSI tool included with the game. It also goes over how to import a Sins model into 3DS max.

Is there a 3dsmax export tool at first place? I always export models to obj and next I import them with softimage 2010. Other newer versions from softimage will not run. Other point, Softimage 2010 only runs at Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 launching it as administrator, if not, you will see several strange errors opening/saving files.

Thanks. But I find much more easy export the model to obj and next to create the SOASE model with softimage 2010. The unique tip can be how the softimage 2010 must be opened always as an administrator or you will suffer strange problems saving your scenes.

But I find curious how soase was not update for newer versions from softimage.

nobody was expected to spend a couple grand on software, or pirate it. XSI mod tool is good for soase modding and free.
