Win+X menu

I have been poking around in SkinStudio 10 on a copy of a skin. Would some kind soul please explain where to find the customisations for the Win+X menu? I would like to change the background colour of the menu, but either I'm blind or the customisations are really well buried.

The Win+X menu will use the system wide menu background colour.

Neil answered your question but I would like to add this. There are other places the Menu color controls. When you right click on the Desktop or Taskbar. If you see other areas change at least you will know what controls the change. Another example would be if you use Photoshop the menus are also controlled by the Menu color.

Thank you, Neil and Dave, now I have somewhere to look.

Just in case.

Open SkinStudio and load the skin you want to modify. Left side open "Change skin colors" Open it. On the drop down menu on the top open "Show me the skin defined system colors"

Highlight where it says "Menu" Click on "Change Color" . Change your color and click Apply.

Argh! I have fond where to change the menu background colour, but I need to change the menu item colours now. The author of the skin would appear to have used the same colour for many items on the skin, so changing the colour is easy, but has unintended consequences.

I think I'll have to give up for a while until I have more time to explore and experiment.

Thanks for your help, it's appreciated.

That's really how it works - there are relatively few colors and they tend to be used in several places.  It's usually best to make subtle changes, leaving darker colors somewhat dark and lighter colors somewhat light.
