Medics in front of dreadnoughts?

Ashes Escalation v2.0 on Steam.

I grouped (as an army) about 10 medics and two Hyperions.  As the army sailed off to attack, the medics formed up in a graceful arc in front of the battleships.  It was very pretty.  Then they were all massacred.

It seems that medics usually do stay in the rear of a fighting force, but not always and certainly not here.

On the steam forums (about 2-3 months ago) this was talked about extensively since the medics always go to the front line (when they are built from dreads or part of a group with dreads in them). I think if they can somehow linger behind the frontline since they are supporting units and should never be allowed to overtake the dread they are associated with.

I'll give the medics this, they are brave units with no fear in their circuit boards. :P But I agree, they really do need to linger back and never overtake the dreads since primarily they are support units, not attacking ones.

true they just go around in the group and heal every unit from every way possible

they just need to stick behind units when they heal and i do think that the game does not handle specific locations on each unit yet

As you guys know the game register the unit as one and not by parts ( when a unit get hit it, it wont hit only engines or turrets, it will get destroyed in a 1 piece ) somaybe that why they cannot make the medic stick behind the units always.

Still not sure, i just gave an idea, i may be wrong.
