Mod Changes for Rebellion 1.86

It's that time of year again. Sins has been updated to version 1.86, and this time the mod changes are both really small AND really cool! Fortunately this means most mods will probably work without needing to be updated.

  1. Gameplay.constants file: No structural changes, but FrigateTECHCarrier has been added to the list of militia ships. Mods that have their own custom rampant militia don't need to worry about this.
  2. English.str: IDS_RESEARCHSUBJECT_TRUCE_AMONGST_ROGUES_DESCRIPTION modified to reflect changes to Truce Amongst Rogues. Mods with the vanilla factions should update this as well, but its a minor issue.
  3. Added researchBoolModifiers "FriendlyWithPirates" and "FriendlyWithRebelNeutrals". I'm unsure if the existing "FriendlyWithPiratesRebelNeutrals" still works, but if not you can probably get the original behavior by researching both.

Splitting the friendly with Pirates and Neutrals is excellent! That will be perfect for my mod =D

hey I still have the Truce amongst rouges research but it only lets me be "friends" with the pirates not the planet protectors? is this a glitch or what's up?

It's a feature.

The old effect still exists but isn't used in vanilla anymore

Ok but since the new update it isn't working as it once had, and yes I have all the DLCs for the game.

This was an intentional change to Truce Amongst Rogues by the developers, according to the changelog. Per number 3 in the original post, there are now more options to define how this behavior works.

This thread is about modding the game. If you are modding you can try changing truce amongst rogue with the modifiers mentioned in #3 to get it to work as it did before. This is not a thread for discussing changes to the base game, you should probably make a new thread here for that.

One problem which seams to have worsen with sins 1.86 (and 1.87) is buffEntityModifierType "DamageSharing" (vanilla advent ability) causing slow down, even game stop with many ships. Without any CPU load! Seams some sort of deadlock, specific when they are attacked with area damage weapons.

Also on large maps I get random crashes, without anything particular going on (no large battles or so) sometimes even just seconds after start. On 1.86 and 1.87 preview.
