Coming back to GalCiv2 after a long layoff

Haven't played the game in years and I'm trying to reinstall it.  I own the original plus Dark Avatar and Twilight.  I "assumed" if I downloaded and installed the Twilight file from my account that I'd get the whole game and it would be up to date.  However after installing the Twilight download it says I am running version 1.53 of Dread Lords.  Do I have to first reinstall Dread Lords, then Dark Avatar, and then Twilight to get everything?  Thanks.

 

Edit - I went back and downloaded the original and Dread Lords.  After uninstalling Twilight and then installing the original I get an error when trying to play the game using GC2Launch.exe:

"Please run setup.exe on your CD or reinstall using Impulse."

Any suggestions?

Edit - Got it all running finally.  Twilight says v2.04 but I understand there is another update after that.  Will try to figure out how to get that as it does not appear on my account page.

Yes, after 2.04 there is 2.20, which is essentially the Community Update database with a few bug fixes from Stardock, all wrapped up in a full-game release. It changes only Twilight; the others are unchanged.

Are your latest Dread Lord (original) and Dark Avatar chapters in the same base directory as Twilight?  (E.g. in Program Files\Stardock\GalCiv ?)

 

 

In the meantime, play Twilight 2.04.  It's a step up from the older stuff all by itself.  :snowman:

Yeah all files are installed in the same directory.  Figured out how to open a support ticket so we'll see if they can fix things for me.  Playing Twilight 2.04 now to remember how to play again.  Thanks.
