Automatic Updates - Start10 - Corrupted Icons on Desktop and Tray

Ongoing Problem - before and after anniversary update

I've reinstalled Object Desktop before the anniversary update but with no change in behavior.

Secondly, I installed the latest Start 10 - now MANY of my icons on the desktop are "whited out" lacking any of their former content on the desktop and in the system tray.

I need a fix for these issues.  I am ready to uninstall the product and request a refund.

Start 10 won't affect desktop icons.  What is most likely is the Windows Update itself has corrupted your system.  The 'Anniversary Update' is simply tyhe most recent issue with Microsoft's methodology.  It'd be more apt to request a refund from Microsoft citing poor business practice.

The guys at SD Support may have a fix, but that will need to be post-weekend, US time...;)

Unfortunately, the problem ONLY occurred with the START 10 update FOR anniversary edition, which I put on before the upgrade to anniversary.  So, the problem has NOTHING to do with MS... it was caused by a Stardock code change.  Not all of my icons are corrupt.  In addition, when I reinstall software, I no longer get the icons correctly formatted... only a white icon.  Icons in my Start menu are in the same state. Anniversary installation proceeded just fine on this and two other machines.

The O/S is otherwise stable and performs well.

Did you perhaps install IconPackager?
