iPhone 7

...so, anyone saw yesterday´s Keynote? Your thoughts?

Personally, its more or less in line with what i expected, thus usual hardware improvements of CPU, cameras, battery etc... and no new killer feature, something innovative nodody else does. I guess that died with Jobs. The most interesting to me, as someone who cares about aesthetics, is the new darth vadersque Jet Black color option. I own / owned only white/silver iPhones so far, but gotta say, this one looks good in black. If the release some kind of 4inch SE replacement in this design and color next year, i may consider getting it.

BTW, The lack of head jack is just  :D . Or better said, the reasons for removing it - finally getting courage to do it... yeah, in other words finally getting courage to force users into buying their own proprietary headphones. The Beats acquisition wont pay back by itself, right?

Honestly, if the phone was at least thinner, which was the main assumed line of reasoning, when the rumors about this popped out. It would still be BS, but at least they could claim theyre going full design and dont care about anything else. But this....explanation in the mould of "we are doing this, because we want it thinner" would make far more sense than "we are doing this, cause we have courage to do it"...ffs.

A cellphone is a cellphone, no big deal. As far as removing a headphone jack though, that is downright idiotic, and being thinner just means it can break easier. I also don't see a use for anything made by Apple, their business practices make me puke.

They are including an adapter in the box that will allow you to connect standard headphones.

It won't be too long until wireless headphones take over anyway.

Thinner does not necessarily mean it will break easier either. The alloys they are using in these things are getting better. However, if you are stupid enough to have a $700 phone that you don't have in a protective case I suppose you are actively seeking a damaged product.

I've always put my iphones in a Otter Box Defender series and have never suffered a break. Had iphones since 1st gen 3. Great products!

I could think of better things to do with $700.00

I wonder, if they can make high glossy black from i suppose aluminium, if its possible to make high glossy white out of ceramic, like the new iWatch are made of. Or thats only for small things.

hahahaha, brilliant

Indeed. Apple is just cruising taking advantage of the house that Jobs built. Tim Cook seems able to make money without too much effort or vision. Lack of competition?

I think the mobile space was far more interesting in the days of Windows Mobile 6, Symbian, webOS and Blackberry (not Android). iOS and Android killed the show (at least for me). :(

The only reason the new iPhone might sell OK is Samsung's current issues with batteries that go 'bang'...

Overpriced consumerist porn.

And yet you use Microsoft products who are just as bad, if not worse. Sorry, I return you all now to your regularly scheduled broadcast. :)

Not defending MS or anything like that but all PC's can use Windows and most third party apps play nice with Windows. On the other hand Apple with its proprietary hold cannot run Windows without a special app as a go between. So comparing Apple with Microsoft is like comparing 'apples' to oranges. Besides...Windows machines come in many flavors. How many does Apple have? Another thing...can you run OS.x on a regular PC? Nope. And the price...a friend bought an Apple laptop and paid $2500.00 for it. My laptop, 6 months old at the time, only costs $340.00. He no longer has his laptop and my Toshiba is still running strong.

Take that Mr. Apple.....ha ha ha.
