Alternate Timeline:

The UrQuan form an interstellar company called StarLanders. They specialize in the manufacturing of digital games and physical toys. Their efficiency ensure they enjoy a near monopoly on this industry

In 2953 Toy Kzer-Za division splits from the Digital Kohr-Ah division. The split is rumored to be due to royalty sharing conflicts between the divisions. The Digital Kohr-Ah pursues their digital strategy to the logical conclusion. The digitization of all known species so they can be better integrated into their new online MMO platform.

I enjoy little nods like this, but you need to be careful with the amount.  Too many feels distracting and like an attempt to cover up not having original ideas.
