fix
I have a Fury X. Running in 4k recently became an issue for me. When starting the game, it would come up, then flash to black, then back to the game. Each flash would last from 2 to 4 seconds.
The fix, workaround I found was to alt+tab out then back into the game, this fixes it.
Otherwise, 4k runs amazingly. 
A slight tangent, but I recently got to see the game in 4k on Extreme running on a Fury (with Freesync). The extra clarity and fidelity on the units and buildings are really really nice. However some things did not improve so well and so was a bit jarring. The yellow resource lanes looked bad and the nodes/generators which represent a region looked a bit blurred/low texture too.
One bug, which the owner says also occurs on their 7970 too and I saw it with the Fury myself, was that the terrain could go blurry in grid like patches. So part of the terrain was really sharp and nice while other parts were blurred. I don't know if this is a LOD bug or a different type but it seems to exist across AMD cards at least. I think it became more evident on the Fury because of the sharp contrast with the 4k terrain. I suppose it could be a VRAM issue?
I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell you what could cause that, haven't seen it on my setup yet.
But yeah, with freesync, it runs super smooth. Some of their most recent updates really helped with the UHD performance.
