Ashes of the Singularity 1.3 Optin

 

We have released an optin of 1.3 for players to test with.

To play the optin go into the properties of the game on your Steam client and select the Opt-in branch. There is no password required and you can switch back to the public build afterwards if you would like.

 

New Features

  • We have added map ping to the game. So you can ping a location on the map that only your teammates can see.
  • You can now see if there are any available multiplayer games from the main menu.
  • Units a much more responsive to commands.
  • Units will now prioritize getting to their location over joining a distant formation
  • Improved T3 movement and physics that prevents them from clumping up and/or fighting each other for ideal firing position.  
  • Selecting a node will display boosts
  • Explosion/impacts now appear closer to the unit's surface.
  • Armies now spend less time getting into formation and more time fighting 

New Maps

  • Maurn - Charge across the central bridge toward the enemy base or gun for the victory points around the flanks in this small two-player map

  • Urich - This wide-open desert with long routes to the enemy base encourages massive clashes between skilled opponents on a medium, two-player map.

  • Tortuga - The central valley holds all the victory points and most of the riches, but short paths along the edge lead to enemy bases in this small four-player map.

  • Pulaski - Small but rich pockets of resources dot the winding canyons of this medium, four-player map.

  • Monaco - Two bridges: a short route to the north, and a resource-rich but longer path to the south. Which way to victory in this tiny two-player arena?

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that was keeping the panel labels from showing up on the orbital display.
  • Dreadnoughts won't clip through each other anymore.
  • Quantum Health Upgrade now applies to queued units.
  • Fixed a rare host migration issue (ie: failure when the person hosting the game leaves and another player needs to become the new host).
  • Large units will no longer incorrectly switch to lower resolutions textures when viewed from specific camera angle
  • Fixed crash if sitting in main menu on Steam build, but not connected to Steam
  • Fixed a Memory leak in async GPU code.
  • Fixed a problem where match results were being sent after the lobby was gone causing a crash
  • Fixing a bug where a host could get themselves into an MP game by themselves by changing the lone user or AI they are playing against to an open, closed, or observer slot at the end of the game start countdown.
  • The game will no longer crash on startup if the audio device is missing or disabled.  
  • Updated the audio mix to prevent battle sounds from overwhelming the music.  

 

Balance

  • Call Avatar Quanta increased from 45 to 90
  • Call Avatar Quanta increase per use reduced from 15% to 10%



Multiplayer Warning

Please keep in mind that you can't play multiplayer against players with a different ashes version, so if you are using the optin you can only play against other players in the optin.

gj really nice maps =)

 

there are still some bugs and imbalance:

  1. Quantum Health Building Upgrade the shields have to recharge they dont get the full upgrade
  2. Quantum Health Upgrade  queued units the shields have to recharge
  3. Eridicator still dont shoot on radar contact and dont have aoe damage
  4. Map Deneb its still  imbalance on this map... on the position 1 the creeps can attack the radiactive harvster!!
  5. Maß Cygnus its still imbalance on this map... because on position 2 you can´t capture bot power generator in the first 60 secs, instead on position 1 you can capture both 
  6. Athena is still to strong against buildings especially towers and t1 units
  7. Destructor still needs too long when its shoots to do damage on buildings; dont use full range and go near to the enemy
  8. Dominiator and Punisher still flyes over and over over buildings and dont attack
  9. blossom launcher dont hit anything instead of the phc aa which get buffed and dont needed it...
  10. in my opinion the avatar is now far to expensive and thus useless
  11. i have some strange graphic flicker
  12. the avenger cant shoot at buildings

Sounds great with the changes can't wait until I get home to fire it up and try it it out.

 

Love the devs and team for the constant improvements and listening to the players for suggestions,  ideas, and priorities.

Another bug, which exists in current main build as well as opt-in, is that you can't always select positions you want for yourself on the map. For example position 3 won't show up even though no one has taken it, and sometimes it gives you the options of positions 1 and 3 say, even when those are occupied.

The changes are awesome! But pathfinding need some work too!

i dont agree with you

the avatar is a better engineer and it should cost that much;

on the big new maps its needs too long to capture bases in the meantime; i can capture max of two than there so many creeps that the avatar needs to much time or dies... 

and with the nerf you can just build smarties and the avatar has to run away and sometimes even this helps not because the avater is sometimes slow and sometime fast like ai want it...

Avatar is a T2 Cruiser. 90 quanta means that sub has to make a choice!

 

cap the map with avatar or unlock the 100 pop limit. much more strategic than rally god knows how many assemblies in phc heart while capturing and building defense everywhere uncontested.

I challenge all fellow players avidly defending the balance for or against a certain faction to a race switch.

Since start of season 2 I am playing PHC only and feel great about all the changes  you convinced the developers to make during season 1. Good Job.

In my opinion the substrate capability to harm buildings is the most problem of todays gameplay. I am not sure what the developers have planed but in my opinion we need a change for this for todays gameplay. I still have scrolling problems in dx12.
