Start10: Anniversary Update and Local Search

Cortana

Hello Stardock Users and Team

I'm wondering what will happen to Start10 when the Anniversary Update hits.

by now, i could locally search my computer like in the gold old Win7 days without showing me results from online or cortana.

Since the Anniversary Update comes around on the 2. August i'm wondering if this will stay this way.

i'm not a huge fan of deactivating update mechanism, but my paranoia sensors tingle when i hear cortana will be enforced with the update.

I'm not interested in cortana and bing search results when im searching locally on my computer, thats what a browser is for IMO.

Acoording to multiple online portals (swiss based, so german: http://www.deskmodder.de/wiki/index.php/Cortana_deaktivieren_Windows_10) it is possible to completely deactivate cortana and bing, which i think i did when installing win10. But according to these sources, this will completely botch-up even local search after the Anniversary Update.

So i'm asking: how does Start10 handle search request from the start menu? what "engine" does it use? Will all stay the same? (hopefully)

Greetings

Start10 uses the Windows Indexing service which should not be affected by Cortana being enabled or disabled.

We are running Start10 on Insider build 14393 without issue.  The Anniversary Edition should work the same.
