customize desktop pages switching "sensitivity"

hi,

what's in the title. I use the mouse & middle click or alt & mouse movement  mainly to switch between desktop pages

So far I can say I don't use them much because it's such a huge movement required and I have a pretty high DPI mouse (G500 , 1800 or 2200 DPI on a 1680x1050 screen)

I'm not sure it seems like it requires about a third of the screen as movement for the switch to complete ? I dunno about you guyz but I like minimal movements. To be sure to complete the action I need to aim for almost half a screen movement that's way too much. Otherwise I have too much attempt failures. So could this be tweaked in a way ? thanks.
