Destructor

hi guys,

what do you think about the unit Destructor?  I see them seldom? The phc plays "towerdefense" but this unit is completly usless in my opinion. Maybe i´m wrong for what do you take the unit?

An antibuilding unit that can have vision of uphill defense with no scouts. Its pretty good imo but sub has so many good cruisers that it falls off.

I dunno, it's plasma rain ability which is mean't to work long range with radar assistance, doesn't. It always wants to get into melee...

The only time I think they are useful is when a PHC player has turtled a little and when you get in range, because of their speed keep them excluded from the army blob and once you start fighting keep them in a seperate control group , this way your bulk is taking some hits but they level structures quickly. You just can't play them like Artemis.

Marauder's blast has always been more suitable in cracking through defenses before big numbers appear on both sides. Now with Eradicator's long range gun I don't see a role for destructor.

You mean Mauler? I could see choosing Destructors over Eradicators due to faster move speed, cheaper cost, faster build time and AOE but Mauler will do just as well vs. buildings plus of course vs T2s as well. Eradicator is apparently getting AOE on its weapon projectile though, which makes Destructor more obsolete.
