2 players?

so if you own the steam and the GOG versions, set up both to run off the same stardock account and all, can they still face off against each other from different PC's?

Yes, they should be able to face off against other so long as they are both the same version number. Currently, Steam is 1.84 and GOG is 1.83 but the 1.84 version has been submitted as is being tested on GOG's end as I had to fix a bug in it on June 15. Once its made live you should have no problems playing against each other from different PC's.

This is not true, GOG recently updated (finally) to version 1.84, so both me and my steam using friend have the same version (1.84, rebellion ultimate edition, both DLC's) but we cannot join each others games, it says our executables differ!

Please fix this stardock, this has been an issue since th GOG release!

I just checked this myself. The GOG exe looks like its different than Steam's. They need to be the same. I will look into why a different exe is being downloaded that what is supposed to be there. Sorry about this.
