Fences move to second monitor after docking

Laptop into dock moves fences

Hi,

I've read a few posts about this and someone mentioned that there might be a registry fix available.

I am running:

  • Windows 10
  • Lenovo Thinkpad T450S
  • Lenovo full dock
  • HP Z27S monitors
  • Fences v2.13

I use either Windows > Display Settings or Intel HD Graphics Control Panel to set up multiple monitors when docked and my left screen is definitely monitor #1 in both applications.

I arrange my fences on monitor #1, then create a snapshot. I also undock and open the laptop monitor where the fences are resized/badly laid out. I arrange them for the laptop and create a snapshot.

I have selected Layout auto-adjustments > On screen resolution changes... > "Preserve my desktop layout by storing my fences' positions on a per-screen-resolution basis".

The options "Auto-arrange icons" and "Align icons to grid" are both unchecked (not checked).

Every time I undock, my fences become a mess on the laptop. When I re-dock, the fences are moved to my second monitor.

Even if I restore the dual monitor snapshot, it makes no difference and the fences remain on the second (right) monitor, so every time I re-dock, I have to move all my fences to the left (primary) monitor again.

Please can you suggest what I do? Fences in this state is no better than having no Fences at all...

Appreiciating all help I can get.

Thanks,

Jules

I have a similar problem - did you ever get a reply/solution?

I have 2 desktops and Fences arbitrarily will move from one to the other.  It changes resolution when it does so when I drag the fences back to the proper desktop I have to resize and re-position them all.  Really annoying!!

In the Fences configuration, under Layout and Snapping, make sure 'Store my fences positions on a per-screen-resolution basis' is selected.
