Stephen is in Hospital

Hi everyone, my fiance Stephen Ward last night (Sunday Night ) at around 11.30 he took our boy Dazza (our dog) for his evening walk as he normally does and has done many times before , he took a tumble and dislocated and has a compound fracture and snapped his ankle in half and is now waiting for surgery Friday. He is resting comfortably for now. I am so worried about him as he said he had a black out, this is not the first time this has happened but this time it is worse , as he has done real damage He is also a diabetic and on tablets and insulin, and also has angina I am going to talk to his doctor as I don't think he has told them everything I am concerned that something sinister is going on. Am I being paranoid??? yes I think I am

If he had a black out be sure the doctors know that is why he fell. They need to run some test. So sorry for both of you.

If Doc see this I'm sure he can advise you much better then me.

Thanks Dave, yes I will mention it to the Doctor, as I feel something is wrong and I can't put my finger on it.

Thinks Jim , he will appreciate that as he is a salvation army soldier in the salvos. I just want to share something and if this offends non christian people I'am sorry but I believe that God put someone there on Sunday night, steve had his mobile phone and rang me and said I need you to come I have had a bad fall and I cant move so when i got off the phone I said to Mark stev has had a fall and he needs help , we left here thinking oh its only a sprain and we will get him to hop home we were only about 300 meters up the road so it didn't take us long to reach him, after we got there we tried to help him up and mark noticed something about steves ankle that was not right, so we tried to make him as comfortable as we could, then a voice came and said to us "you guys need help I called out yes we do, I think my partner has a broken ankle" so with that the bloke brought his car up nice and close to us and got steve to sit in it and he said we will take you up to the Hospital bloke then turned to me and said do you want to come I replied yes if its ok, he said yes so we went to the Hospital and was seen very fast ... so yes The Lord sent us someone as we needed extra help. I have no idea who these kind people are, but if you are a member of WC Stephen and I can not thank you both enough for you efforts and getting us to the Hospital. <3

Well I'm not impressed! I mean, there's so much work to be done around here, and he goes off and breaks his ankle. How inconsiderate!

:-" ;P

I told him, if he was so desperate for a few days off and a stay in hospital, I'd have cooked dinner and given him food poisoning instead.

:-" ;P

Seriously, though, it was a nasty accident, though it didn't look too serious at first. When Steve tried to stand I could see that his foot was not in alignment and that his ankle was abnormally protruding into his sock. It was at this point a couple of good Samaritans stopped to offer assistance, and I'm so glad they did, as Shaunna and I would have struggled to help him on our own. I was going to call an ambulance on my mobile, but the good Samaritans instead offered to take Steve and Shaunna to the hospital while I took Daz the lovable pooch home.

I don't know your names or who you are, people, but thanks so much for coming to our aid. :)

Well, I'm sure you've told his M.D. by now...although he probably had a low sugar, a cardiac workup (at least) should be done (better a syncope workup...includes more than just the heart).

I am concerned that something sinister is going on.

As am I, and I have no doubts starkers is somehow involved. Beat the truth out of him, Shaunna. ;)

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Yes I spoke to his MD and he said its common for diabetics to have these, and they are going to monitor him,

Advocating violence... and a doctor no less. Tut, tut!

And I'll have you know that I had nothing to do with Steve's blacking out or injuries. If he blacks out while drunk and falls over, well that's on him. :-"

Nah, seriously, our Steve doesn't get drunk... being I drink four to his one, well I don't give him the opportunity. :w00t: Nah, not really.

I do feel for Steve, though. Having had multiple fractures/broken bones myself, I do know what he's going through right now and hope his recovery is swift and complete.

Another reason Steve's stay in hospital is inconsiderate is that I can't blame him for corrupting me... like when I have a 'shandy' or six too many. At least when he's Here I can blame him for leading me astray... and I don't wanna blame Shaunna cos she's got a powerful right hook.

Nah, seriously, Steve should be home on Friday, which 'll be good cos he's going stir crazy in there with not a lot to do. There's no place like home, and hospital is only good if you're truly sick, which Steve isn't

Actually, I shouldn't say he's not truly sick.... he's a bit warped in the head, which is probably why we're such great mates and get along so well.

If they pass a law that says partially warped people should be institutionalised, I wanna go to the same asylum as Steve and Shaunna.

  :w00t: :-"

Update on Stephen!!!!.

Stephen will he will be staying in Hospital till they can get him to either laidley or Esk Hospital due to lack of coordination and confidence to use crutches hence the reason that the Ipswich general hospital want to transfer him to 1 of these hospitals so that they can support him better. We feel so frustrated but i guess we gotta hang in there it sure has been a hard slog, but we are getting there , the other thing we going to need is a ramp and a rail for the front steps so when he does come home at least he will be able to navigate them better . and all he wants is to be home my poor baby . :')

For those who don't know, which is most, if not all of you, Boonah hospital is around a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive and, without a car, visiting Steve is going to be difficult. I believe there are workers buses, but only one goes up early in the morning, with the return bus leaving around 5.30pm, making it a very long day and not practical to be visiting too often. Hopefully one of his 3 bothers [who all live locally] will offer us a ride when they are going up, though we're not counting on it due each of them having irregular hours of work. Some friends have offered to drive us, but being that neither of us like to put people out, it's not something we'd want to do unless it was necessary. Not to worry, though, something will come up... it always does.
