Average queue wait time

Is there some kind of bug in the waiting process ? I've played yesterday, saturday and today, sunday.Yesterday I waited 25 mn  and I'm waiting right now for more than 50 minutes. An other time I waited 10 mn and then left queue to reenter the queue and found a game really quickly. I don't mind waiting, I can read the forum meanwhile. But it feels like that at some point my request for a game is forgotten by the match making system.

So I waited 50 mn and left queue to renter it right away I had a reinitializing queue error message and could reenter the queue after that. Then I had 4 or 5 very quick match found but all failed to connect or left queue. I rentered the queue each time and ended up waiting for almost 5 mn on my last attempt,more than double the average wait time and finally left.

  I guess the 5 match found was previous match that didn't prompt the match foud message on my system.

Any idea what I can do? If that happened to other players as well it's really bad for multiplayer because it makes impossible to trust the match making system. It's an obligation leave the queue at some point because one might be just forgotten.

A lot of it has to do with your rank.

The higher the rank, the longer it can take sometimes because it won't match you up with someone vastly outside your rank.

We expect to have a pretty big inflow of new players soon (going to be doing a sale soon).

Well I'm currently level 4, have been shorthly 3 so I guess I'm paired with most of the crowd.  Thanks for the answer but the waiting process still feels weird.

A long calm wait and after leaving and reentering a very fast series of match all unsucessfull. Let's see how it goes.

Sounds a bit odd to me too. If you don't find a game after 5 or 6 minutes I'd quit and rejoin the queue just in case.

at rank 4 it shouldn't be more than 3 or so minutes.  There's typically around 10 people in the queue at any given time.

Even with your higher rank you shouldn't be waiting 25+ minutes. Please report back if you are successfully connecting to the servers. Easiest way to check is to verify your name and avatar appear in the top right of the main menu.

Please send me your TachyonLog.txt located in:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Stardock\Tachyon\
(you can copy and paste the line above into Explorer)

Finally, please PM me your Steam ID as that'll allow me to investigate your match history.

Thanks for sending the information over. After looking at things we think you're getting disconnected. There's a specific sequence of events we reproduced that could cause the behavior you are seeing. We'll get a solution in place for a future release.

Until then just know if you wait longer than about 10 minutes something is probably wrong and you should exit the game and restart to be sure.

Same problem... almost done trying actually. Bought game pre beta and loved it. Now I'm averaging 20-60 min in queue. Game will die premature death if this is typical. Very disappointed as this was the best game I've found since C&C3. Queue wait time usually says 3-7 minutes but never even close anymore. <_<

If you are not already doing so, promote the game to friends and your community groups.  The only way the player base will grow substantially is if the current base spreads the good news.  That goes for anyone playing.
