U.F.P. diplomacy ideas - more poltics, behind closed door deals

So now the vote comes up, The Iridium Corp has the most votes, but I don't want them to win the proposal. Who do I vote for? Myself? If everyone votes for themselves, Iridium wins. Who of the others can I vote for to get them to win instead of Iridium? Maybe the Altarians? I vote for them but they don't vote for themselves and Iridium wins anyway. We need some politics here.

Maybe UFP proposals should be announced X turns before the voting begins, during which time you could work things out with other civs. Maybe on the trading screen you can have a new treaty that is something like "vote for x" in the UFP. Maybe on the conversation screen you can ask them how they are planning to vote etc. I think this would be rad.

Yes this is a great idea.  The UFP is soo boring right now.  It doesn't seem to have any binding point.  I would love to see us have the ability to make deals ahead of time and form coalitions.

Civ 5 has this currently in Brave New World and you can buy your rivals available delegates for voting on an issue. Its a far better system I have seen so far. You can not be the chairperson and still swing the votes on your issues with back door diplomacy deals.
