I was just seeing how bad the fires are in Alberta,  Canada. I hope my good friend Ken Crooks is ok.

I'm certain we have other friends and family in Canada, I pray that all can get away from this awful event!

My prayers go out to the over 80,000 people evacuated from their homes.

May they all be safe...

Awful damage...to a beautiful area.

The evacuation appears to be succeeding well...but 88,000 people...unbelievable.

And many of those don't even know if they will have a home to come back to. I'll keep them in my prayers.

I am 400 miles south so all is well here. I was just telling Dave that 2 years ago I turned down a job offer in Fort McMurray. If I had taken the job I would most likely be without a home and had lost everything. They are saying that by tomorrow the fire could double in size. It has already burned 100,000 hectares.

It's off-season here for fires so I imagine we'll be sending a bunch over to Canada to help...;)

We certainly could use the help. Fire fighters here are exhausted, so much so the army had to be called on.

That is great news!  Glad you're ok, Ken!

I saw a graphic on nbc news that shows just how big the fires are. I've been all over the five boroughs of New York City, especially Brooklyn and the fires in comparison are much larger than all five boroughs combined. My prayers to all those affected. A recent update says the fires could burn for months. Un effen real!

Absolutely fantastic JC, makes one want to cry watching the video and listening to the song. I hope things get better there soon.

The fire is still burning but it has moved away from populated areas. Most of the downtown city of Fort McMurray was spared but many lost their homes.
