SC Founder's Program Sold Out?

(This is a re-post of my Future Star Control Games post because I couldn't find the SC sub-category like a fool, but here it is anyways)

 

"Sorry, Star Control Lifetime Founder's Edition (ESD-SDE-W086) is sold out."

 

So here is the context:

A while ago I applied for the Star Control Founder's Program, I was ecstatic to learn that I had made it into the program, but was quickly taken back by how much it would cost, essentially $100 for the Lifetime Edition. Undeterred I decided that I would save up my money to buy it, and was hoping that I could buy it sometime in the future once I had enough disposable income. So I finally scraped together enough, went to the store and *bam* it is sold out. So my question is:

Is there anyway that I can alleviate this issue? It would be a shame if I got this far and wouldn't be able to participate in the Founder's Program because of financial troubles, and I even checked the other $40 option, which isn't available as well. Is there any way that I can still get the Lifetime Edition or is it completely impossible?

Sorry, but we reached the limit of the Founder edition and unfortunately we aren't selling them any longer.

In a recent tweet i had with Stardocks CEO (Brad Wardell) , he mentioned there might be a second wave this summer.

That's cool. I filled out an application but never heard anything back. 

Loved the originals and would have loved nothing more than to be involved in the development of the new one, but not going to beg. Guess I'll just wait for the mainstream release.

I knew that Stardock was doing a 'continuation' of the SC series, but not wanting to watch the pot boil, stayed away from monitoring their progress. Now I learn that I should have watched the pot! Star Control 2 is not only one of my favorite videogames of all time (and I've been gaming since 1976) it's one of the best games ever made. Period. I would very much like to be part of any 'Second Wave' that might be made available. Is there some way to be notified when/if this happens? Or do I have to watch that blasted pot? :-D

You can always signup for our newsletters, but for SC stuff I would recommend checking the forums and social outlets as well.
