Characters, Economics and Espionage.

Adding more depth and allowing more emergent gameplay.

A few suggestions for future DLC and expansions.

  • Characters: I would like to see character or "heroes" added as a function. For example fleet commanders, governors, scientists etc. That could provide boosts to the places they are assigned.
  • Economics: I would also like to see a more complex economic system, for one thing just being able to adjust tax would be nice.
  • Government: Different types of governments and how they function would be a good addition, I seem to recall a similar system in GalCiv2.
  • Espionage: Also a feature from GalCiv2 (one of the expansions if I recall correctly) was an active espionage system. This could be improved upon from the previous iteration in GalCiv2 and also contributes to the characters suggestion I mentioned above.
  • Super Weapons: PLEASE

Galactic Civilizations has always been a great game that centered around players creating their own style and stories. I think the above suggestions would add a great amount of appreciated depth to the already great game. I can also say with no small amount of confidence that these are the kind of features that sell great DLC and expansions...ahem.

Especially since there's a merc that does that. I would also love to see a merc ship (or a component for your ships) that gives Benevolent/Pragmatic Ideology points (and Malevolent for ship component)
