*****HELP!!! Finding base ship styles to make ship sets from custom ships*****

Hello folks

 

I am a Gal Civ 3 newbie and am looking to make some custom races with custom shipsets cobbled together from some of the amazing designs in the Steam Workshop. 

 

I've read over Gauntlets making custom ship sets from custom ship designs video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyuzaYS0ewY) as well as a few other posts in the mods.

 

It seems that to make a custom ship set from different custom ships I need to know what base ship styles were used to make each of the designs. 

 

But I cannot seem to find a way to verify what of the basic ship styles were used to make the custom ships from the design files. 

 

Is there anyway to work out what the base ship style was from the design files?

 

Are there any workarounds if it is not possible to verify the base ship style from the ship files?

Hmm, I'd have thought that the when you play with a faction that has a custom shipstyle, the base shipset would appear in the designer. That's how you can tell with my own custom set, which I used the Drengin for a base.

You don't need to know. you need tip fix, so to speak. 

 

Turn on "show all designs" in the options, start a game as your desired racial set, re-save every design.  Then use those files. Bam they are all three same parts style.
