Cannot see or access empire tree

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure this is a bug - or If I'm missing something obvious.

I cannot see or find any way of accessing the empire tree during battles. There are no icons between the menu button and the idle engineer button.

Detals:

Game version - 0.82.17109

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64

CPU: i7 4790

GPU: GTX 970

Graphics Driver: 359.06

HDD:Samsung M.2 250gb

Assign a control group and it will pop up. Not an army, a control group ( use ctrl + 1-9)
