Ashes of the Singularity v.81 Changelog

v.81 is now available for Ashes of the Singularity, check out the changelog below:

  • Fixes & Improvements

    • Improved matchmaking so players are more likely to get matched to their appropriate skill level

    • Adjusted custom lobby filters so that global games would be visible

    • Fixed incorrect winning team sometimes being reported to stats in Ranked Matches

    • Fixed opponent name sometimes not updated in multiple consecutive Ranked Matches

    • Fixed player rank incorrectly displaying in the loading screen

    • Fixed shields wouldn’t display for certain substrate units

    • Fixed incorrect icon displaying for some players in Ranked matches

    • Made bandwidth optimization related to construction queues

    • Avatar Orbital Ability cost increased

    • Lots of maps updated to have 2 radioactive deposits at the nearest radioactive region to starting points to improve overall pacing.  This will be done on large maps as well, but didn’t make it into this patch.

"Failed to start matchmaking" is what I get if I try and do ranked play. After I hit the "Enter Queue" button.

Substrate or PHC?

Please try quitting Ashes entirely, starting it again, and re-enter the queue.

I was able to reproduce this issue tonight and grab some debug logs from the matchmaking server. This should help us track down the issue.
