More screen resolutions, "TV" mode, more distinct unit types, rework of formations, more detailed maps

Hi!

I bought the game and the game asks for feedback. So here it comes. Of course, this feedback just reflects my opinion. As a RTS veteran (playing them for more than 20 years now, with thousands of hours put especially into Relic games).

1) More resolutions need to be implemented. And they need to work. My brother and my friend both have problems running this game at resolutions lower than Full HD. The right side of the screen is cut off.

2) One of my friends runs the game on his TV. It would be awesome to have some kind of "TV" mode where the fonts are super large and can be read from the couch. Don't ask me why he does that, especially for RTS games nothing beats a monitor close to your face. But I kind of like the idea to be able to play any game on a couch.

3) This will probably hurt the designer, but especially the PHC units look quite boring, bland and generic, imho. It would be great if they were looking a little more distinct. The new faction looks a lot better. I guess there will be several more factions, they should look very apart from each other. The first Dawn of War is a perfect example for this.

4) Formations are buggy. If I want to squeeze a huge army through a needle hole, I understand that my troops will form a long line and that this is tactically not good. But sometimes my armies take an alternative route, apparently because the army size is too large. This should be addressed urgently.

5) The maps are missing details. No buildings, hardly any plants and no other objects. The maps in other RTS games are so much more detailed which just creates a lot more atmosphere. A graphics engine like this should be capable of presenting many objects, just like it does with all these units.

Okay, these are my suggestions so far. I do promise this game will have a long life time if constant updates are provided and a lot more factions are added.

I agree with all your points.  Was about to mention something about the resolution settings myself.  The description of the game says it is being developed for today's and tomorrow graphics cards.  Well, can multi-monitor support be enabled then?  Cause, I play a lot of games in 5960X1080 resolution which is handled by my graphics card (which is already a few years old anyways).  When I load up Ashes and start a game with that resolution, it puts the build UI and minimap on my left mointor, and the score on the right monitor.  It's a little annoying to have to select a building not on my primary monitor.  Optimally, I'd want minimap on left-most mintor, score on right-most monitor, and the building interface on the middle, but that's just my opinion.  Nowadays, most active gamers have two, if not three monitors, so this should be looked into for support.

Formations are super-buggy, not just with movement but with battle.  Medics stay in the back like they should, but meanwhile units in the front die because the medics stay all the way in the back behind my artillery.  Ergo, they die anyway cause all my heavy armor wasn't healed like they should have been, and the ranged units have very little armor to stand up to a full-on attack.  I've watched the air units as they circle overhead pass OVER enemy units without attacking because they need to "stay in formation".  I like that the air units keep up with ground units, but I'd be fine if they attacked units they pass over.  Better solution?  Have their speed reduce so they can fly at the same speed as the army instead of wide circles.  Most of my air units end up dying to anti-air when they do that.

More map details would be nice, but I don't think it should be priority atm.  There are plenty of bugs that need fixing first.
